Iliana Soriano -Piano

Iliana decided to become a music teacher because of her childhood piano teacher, Hanna Kot Skiba whose love for music, warmth, and dedication had a profound impact on her. Iliana has been teaching music since 2006, beginning with Mojiganga Arte Escénico, a theater company that uses music, puppetry, acting, singing, and dancing to empower children. She next taught at the Yamaha School of Music in Veracruz, Mexico from 2009-2014. She began her Casita de Musica project in 2014, focusing on teaching music to children with different educational needs.
 

Iliana studied classical singing at Escuela Superior de Música del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City (2000-2006) and also took private singing lessons with Olivia Gorra. She toured in Switzerland at Fête de la Musique in 2009, and has participated in multiple arts festivals in Mexico. She has performed Musical Theater in Mexico, given jazz concerts in her home state of Veracruz, and even composed a musical with puppets.
